Tokyo, September 11, 2023 – Nomura Research Institute, Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; Chairman, President & CEO Shingo Konomoto, “NRI”), a leading provider of consulting services and system solutions, has been listed on the FinTech Enterprise Top 25 solution provider list in the Emerging Fintech category by analyst firm IDC in its annual IDC Financial Insights Fintech Rankings.

NRI offers a wide spectrum of technology solutions for financial firms in asset management and capital markets across the globe, from back to front office needs, as well as industry-leading research and consulting services for some of the world’s most prominent institutions.

The recognition in IDC’s global ranking underlines NRI’s growing international footprint as a leading financial solutions provider. In the US, NRI has been providing automated settlement and straight-through processing of trades executed across all markets with the partnership with BetaNXT. In addition, NRI’s increased global presence is highlighted by recent developments in Australia. Velrada, one of Microsoft’s largest Australian implementation partners, and a leading provider of transformational business solutions opted for an acquisition offer from NRI Australia (NRI Australia) Limited. Furthermore, Planit, Australia’s No. 1 Software Quality Assurance Company, which NRI acquired in 2021, recently expanded its presence with the acquisition of Qual IT and Shift Left in 2022.

NRI’s Prime Settlement Solution secured a prestigious FTF News Technology Innovation Award for Best Outsourcing Provider further reaffirming its innovative industry-shaping offerings. NRI was also the only Japanese company to be selected for the second year in a row as a Silver Class Company in the S&P Global Sustainability Awards 2022, a testament to NRI’s ongoing commitment to innovation that supports a more sustainable world.

“We are thrilled to be recognised among global leaders in fintech enterprise solutions,” said Masaaki Yamazaki, Senior Managing Director at NRI. “NRI’s inclusion into IDC’s FinTech Enterprise Top 25 reflects our continuous dedication to providing innovative and impactful solutions to our partners and customers globally as we continue to lead the way in the digital transformation of the financial technology sector while also remaining socially responsible and committed to building a sustainable future.”

The Fortune 500-style ranking recognises IT providers that have enabled a genuine, measurable, and future-enabling change at a client financial institution (bank, capital markets firm, or insurer) in the worldwide financial services industry. These providers supply the technological backbone of the financial services industry, an industry in which IDC forecasts worldwide spending on IT across the globe to be over $800 billion (USD) by 2026.

This year’s rankings will only publish the ranked order of the top 25 of the IDC FinTech Top 100 companies and the top 10 of the IDC FinTech Enterprise Top 50.
