Bangarra Dance Theatre is delighted to announce a new partnership with NRI, who will join the company as a Major Partner from 2023 to 2025. The new partnership has been founded on a shared vision and mission to ensure that First Nations voices are heard, and the stories and history of Australia’s First Peoples are shared.

Bangarra is focused on creating and producing works based on 65,000 years of history, culture, and knowledge, to create and share unique contemporary dance productions on regional, national and international stages. In 2023, Bangarra will present the national tour of Frances Rings’ inaugural work as Artistic Director, Yuldea which will tour nationally from June to October, as well as regional tours of Waru and Terrain, and an international season of the critically acclaimed Sandsong as part of Auckland Arts Festival.

Bangarra’s Interim Executive Director, Louise Ingram said “We are thrilled to have NRI join Bangarra as a strategic partner, who will support us in our purpose to create inspiring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander experiences that promote awareness and understanding of our cultures.”

NRI launched its first ‘Innovate’ Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in 2021, and as part of this plan, committed to increasing the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples looking to establish careers in information technology and providing career development opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees.

Dean Langenbach, NRI Australia and New Zealand’s Chief Executive Officer said: “Bangarra is a pioneering cultural institution, and we are proud to be partnering with a contemporary dance company that tells so many of Australia’s most important stories, and which through education, outreach, and career pathway programs, helps to build the Indigenous leaders of tomorrow. NRI is committed to supporting Australia’s National Reconciliation movement, and our ‘Innovate’ Reconciliation Action Plan is proof of that.”

NRI is a leading provider of IT management and consulting services. Its core strengths are in SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, and Microsoft, and its full suite of services includes business strategy and consulting through to infrastructure and managed IT services.

As a Major Partner, NRI will have access to performances and bespoke experiences at Bangarra, providing enriching opportunities to expand cultural awareness and deepen understanding of this country’s history and the oldest continuing culture in the world.
