Meet our speakers

Dr Simon Kos

Dr. Simon Kos – Global Digital Health Specialist

Dr. Simon Kos is an internationally recognised leader in digital health, working in global, regional and national senior executive roles for over twenty years, most recently as the ANZ Chief Medical Officer at Microsoft. Simon is also a mentor in Australia’s Clinical Entrepreneur Program, a casual lecturer, and an advisor/investor in digital health start-ups. He was previously global chief medical officer of Microsoft based in Seattle, CEO of Next Practice, Physician Executive with Cerner, and co-chair of the Global Commission to end the Diagnostic Odyssey for children with a Rare Disease.

Professor Sharath Sriram Chief Scientist of WA

Prof Sharath Sriram – Chief Scientist, Government of WA

Professor Sharath Sriram is the Chief Scientist for the Government of Western Australia, appointed in 2025 to guide the state’s science and innovation strategy. He is a renowned expert in nanoelectronics and biomedical technologies, with a career focused on translating cutting-edge research into real-world healthcare solutions. At RMIT University, he led major initiatives including the Discovery to Device facility and the Micro Nano Research Facility. Professor Sriram also serves as President of Science & Technology Australia where he advocates for a stronger national innovation ecosystem, diversity in STEM, and support for emerging researchers. His leadership combines deep technical expertise with a commitment to public impact and scientific advancement.

Greg Italiano

Greg Italiano – GCIO, Office of Digital Government

Greg Italiano is the Government Chief Information Officer (GCIO) for Western Australia, leading the Office of Digital Government within the Department of the Premier and Cabinet since December 2018. He is known for his strategic leadership in driving digitally enabled transformation. With over two decades of experience in the public sector, Greg has held senior executive roles across WA Police, the Department of Health, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Treasury. In his current role, he oversees the state’s digital transformation agenda, focusing on cybersecurity, online service delivery, data protection, data analytics, and digital inclusion across the community.

Kaylene Obrien

Kaylene O’Brien – Chief Executive Officer, NRI

Kaylene O’Brien is CEO of NRI in Australia and New Zealand and brings over 30 years of leadership in consulting and IT – including a former role as CEO and Managing Director of Capegemini ANZ. Today, Kaylene leads a team of approximately 2,500 professionals, serving 290 enterprise and government clients across consulting, managed services, and enterprise solutions. Appointed in December 2024, Kaylene is focused on transforming the NRI business to become even more client focused, leveraging industry and domain specialisms as well as a more integrated approach to adding value and providing solutions to our clients.

Dr. Sumit Sinha-Roy

Dr Sumit Sinha-Roy - Executive Director, EMR Program, WA Health

Dr Sumit Sinha Roy is a leader in service redesign and implementing digitally enabled healthcare. UK trained, he began his career in the NHS before moving to Western Australia in 2013. With a background in acute and critical care, he has shaped public health strategy since 2016 and was a key leader in WA’s COVID 19 response—overseeing clinical care in Hotel Quarantine, and leading testing and vaccination programs. He holds advanced qualifications in public administration, sports medicine, lean management, and human factors, and is recognised for driving healthcare innovation, embedding system improvement, and delivering public value.

Anita Ghose

Adjunct Professor Anita Ghose, Founder & CEO of inventiveX

Adjunct Professor Anita Ghose leads inventiveX, a global consultancy of healthcare and human services transformation specialists. Anita has large scale strategy, advisory and delivery experience across complex environments, with a deep understanding of the health and technology sectors. A previous Health Partner and National Lead Partner Aged Care in a global professional services firm, she commenced her career as a WA Health acute and critical care Physiotherapist. Anita brings a fusion of clinical and technology expertise, having worked for over 25 years in C-suite roles across industry and consulting within Australia and globally.  Anita is acknowledged for her leadership and transformative work in realising a digitally enabled future of care underpinned by the Quintuple Aim.

Pip Brennan

Pip Brennan – Digital Health Lead, Health Consumers' Council

Pip Brennan is a long-standing consumer advocate in Western Australia’s health sector, currently serving as the Digital Health Lead for the Health Consumers’ Council (HCC). With over 25 years of experience, Pip has held key roles including Executive Director of HCC, Panel Member of the Sustainable Health Review, Board Member of the WA Health Translation Network and research sector roles. The lived experience voice in health policy, service design, and digital innovation is uppermost in Pip’s advocacy work. In her current role, Pip is co-located within WA Health’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Program, where she champions consumer engagement and advocacy for digital health transformation.

Roman Antchik

Roman Antchik - GM Healthcare & NFP, Velrada

Roman Antchik brings over 20 years of experience delivering Microsoft enterprise solutions, with a strong focus on transforming health systems through technology. He is dedicated to improving patient experiences via modern engagement portals and personalised care journeys, while empowering frontline care teams with intelligent rostering and mobile workforce tools such as PowerRoster and PowerWorker Engage. Roman also streamlines assessments and referrals through digitised health forms and automated workflows like vForms, and enables deeper clinical and operational insights by extending core PAS and EMR systems. His work in modernising virtual care, across aged, at-home, and specialist settings, leverages AI, low-code platforms, and Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare to drive meaningful impact.

They face the challenges of delivering safe and quality care whilst operating with workforce and budgetary constraints and compliance requirements. In this session, Roman Antchik, General Manager of Healthcare at Velrada, will showcase how Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare and Velrada’s sector solutions are enabling connected, patient-centred care across hospitals, homes, and communities. From referrals and remote monitoring to intelligent rostering and AI-driven insights, Roman will demonstrate how providers can extend care beyond hospital walls – delivering better experiences for patients, greater support for clinicians, and sustainable models of care at scale.
